The Masters Practice Round: Tips and Tricks

Here are some of our favorite tips for making the most of your time at The Masters practice rounds, including guidelines for camera usage:

– Bring a camera! Cameras are allowed only during the practice rounds at The Masters, not during the tournament rounds. This provides a unique opportunity to capture memorable moments on iconic grounds.

Monday practice round: Cameras permitted
Tuesday practice round: Cameras permitted
Wednesday practice round: Cameras permitted
Tournament rounds (Thursday-Sunday): No cameras allowed

However, remember that while you can bring a camera, cell phones are still prohibited on the course. Be sure to bring a standalone camera and refrain from attempting to bring your phone, as tournament officials strictly enforce this rule.

– Plan ahead if you decide to separate from your group. With the vast size and bustling nature of the course, it’s essential to establish meeting points and times in advance to regroup effectively, especially without the use of cell phones for communication.

– Top golfers often aim to complete their practice rounds early to avoid the crowd. Arriving early increases your chances of seeing the elite players in action.

– Many visitors find that parking is usually hassle-free during practice round days, and there’s no charge for parking. Simply arrive a little early, and you’ll have no trouble finding a spot.

– Shop early for official merchandise. Exclusive merchandise is available only at the course during The Masters week, and inventory becomes more limited as the tournament progresses. Visiting earlier in the week provides the best selection of merchandise.

– Attend the Par 3 contest on Wednesday if possible. This unique event offers a chance to see the pros in a more relaxed atmosphere and adds an enjoyable dimension to the tournament experience.

– Take advantage of the practice round days to explore the course. Whether to scout prime viewing spots or simply soak in the ambiance, the practice rounds offer an ideal opportunity to traverse Augusta National’s renowned fairways.

– Mark your chair with a distinctive identifier if you leave it unattended. Chairs can easily blend in among the crowds, so making yours easily recognizable will help ensure it’s still there when you return.

– Dress appropriately for the weather and opt for comfortable footwear. The unpredictable nature of the weather and the extensive walking involved necessitate attire that will keep you comfortable throughout the day.

By following these tips, you’ll be well-prepared to enjoy The Masters practice rounds to the fullest and create lasting memories.
