Watch the action close up & in person – The topography of the course is breathtaking and anyone who has walked the grounds usually has their own “go-to” spots for taking in all the action. Here are a couple of our favorites:
HOLE #9
It’s the longest hole on the course. The fairway bunkering, the approach into a raised green, the view of the Manor House—all combine for a dramatic and visually memorable hole.
HOLE #15
Water runs along the right, the Manor House is in view, and there’s a big decision off the tee (play safe or challenge the water). The green is raised and well guarded, so accuracy and nerve are tested.
HOLE #16
One of the most visually stunning and strategically demanding par-3s. Very wide green (one of the widest in Ireland), protected by water and bunkers. Depending on the pin-placement, it can offer a huge swing in score.
HOLE #18
A classic finishing hole: water, risk versus reward, approach over or near water depending on how aggressively you play, and strong visuals with the Manor House in the backdrop. Truly a signature way to close.
The Ryder Cup is a prestigious biennial golf tournament that pits Team USA against Team Europe in a match-play format, creating one of the most intense and passionate competitions in the sport. Established in 1927 and named after Samuel Ryder, the event alternates between courses in the United States and Europe, featuring a mix of foursomes, four-ball, and singles matches. Unlike other golf tournaments, the Ryder Cup is not played for prize money but for national and continental pride, making it a thrilling and emotionally charged spectacle for players and fans alike.
Limerick, set along the River Shannon in Ireland’s southwest, blends rich history with a lively modern culture. Beyond its medieval landmarks and vibrant city life, Limerick is also a gateway to some of Ireland’s finest golf. The county is home to the world-class Adare Manor Golf Course, host of the 2027 Ryder Cup, as well as a number of scenic parkland and links courses across the Shannon region. With its mix of heritage, hospitality, and championship-level golf, Limerick offers an unforgettable experience for players and visitors alike.
