Personal Experience: Rio Summer Games 2016 Opening Ceremony

This is Brittany, I am the Operations Manager here at On Point Events, and welcome to a short video of me sharing personal experience highlight while working here at On Point.

Something that really sticks out to me and I think back fondly is attending the opening ceremony for the Summer Games in Rio in 2016. There is something really great about being in a new country. For me, that was the first time I have been to Rio and attending an event that really celebrates the local culture with music, dancing, lights, and fireworks. Being able to see that in person is something that was really special for me. Growing up, I had always watched the opening ceremony for the Summer Games, so being able to see it in person was amazing.

Another thing is being patriotic to your own country. So, for me seeing the American flag, seeing the team US athletes that I have followed throughout the years for some of my favorite sports being able to experience that. And I think the excitement from other countries as well. Seeing others being excited about their own team and their own countries is bringing everybody together. It really was a special experience for me and something that I will always look back fondly for sure.
